Balenciaga

The Picasso of Fashion. This is how Cristóbal Balenciaga, father of the fashion label of the same name, is called. Impeccable cuts, refined geometries, studied proportions to the last detail: Balenciaga placed all his attention on his creations, not mere clothes, but objects of art. An official couturier of the Spanish royal house and designer appreciated by the European aristocracy, Cristóbal opened the Balenciaga fashion house in 1937, on Avenue George V, in Paris. Collarless shirts, egg dresses, balloon skirts are just some of the creations that the world of fashion owes to Cristóbal. Elements, the latter, that the new creative director of the house, Alexander Wang, has been able to bring back to the catwalk with that innovation and modernity that could not better represent the Balenciaga philosophy.
On July 30, 2015, Balenciaga announced that the termination of the relationship with Alexander Wang after three years. At the beginning of October, the brand indicated as Demna Gvasalia as a new creative director.
